Personal Track Safety

The Personal Track Safety course or PTS is the basic entry level qualification for working on or near railway lines. An employee is required to undertake the Personal Track Safety Course before they are allowed to work within the boundries of Network Rail Tracks within the UK.

Before undertaking a Personal Track Safety course, all persons must pass a medical exam,

The PTS Card lists all competencies held by the person named on the PTS card, including medical details, PTS validation dates and any other competencies that the person may have.

the PTS Card is the Key to being able to work on or around the railway.

By the end of the course trainees will be able to Demonstrate their ability to interpret correctly Rule Book, Track Safety Handbook, and relevant local instructions when required to go on or near the line. They will also have shown ability to demonstrate their ability to follow a safe system of work.

The course will consist of presented instructions from our qualified training staff using many different types of media, as well as written and practical assessments.

Successful trainee's will receive the Personal Track Safety Certificate of Competence which will be valid for two years.
